The Lancaster Bike Club had their 30th annual Covered Bridge Metric Century on Sunday and I made it! Whehoo! I have to admit that I was a bit nervous, but 63 miles after starting the ride I pulled into the finish line with my family there cheering me on. Pretty cool indeed. I LOVED riding with a group of other riders… it certainly keeps you motivated to keep going.
I on one of the hills I was heading down doing about 35 miles an hour a bee got stuck under my glasses and stung my forehead. There were cars behind me as well as a whole slew of riders and I probably looked like an idiot going that fast downhill with one hand on the handle bars and the other swatting off my glasses trying to get this bee to go away.
Thanks goodness I’m not allergic.
Here’s the route we took.

I wanted to get to the point where I could comfortably ride bike to work and I was able to this morning. I was REALLY worried about the hills, because there are some massive ones, but it actually wasn’t nearly as bad as many of the Q-Ville rides I have been doing. Here’s the route…
Went for a nice ride today. The weather was amazing and the views were awesome. I think this is the reason I love riding so much. I can’t wait until my cardio endurance kicks in to the point where I don’t feel like I’m dieing at the top of large hills. Prior to today there were two hills that I was unable to climb (I have done some pretty major ones). I am going to go back in a few weeks and try to conquer them all. Here’s the route:
A passion from long ago has “come back” to me. I used to bike A LOT and have decided that for stress relief and for fitness that I am going to start again. I have gone on about 10 rides now and am going to link to the routes that I take here so I have a record of them in the future. I rode to my mom and dad’s and back to Quarryville (about 20 miles) yesterday. I am hoping to go 30 miles at some point this weekend. We’ll see how the weather holds up. Here’s the route I took:
Update: A few have asked what bike I’m riding… I picked this one… after much thought and research…
